College & Crown

Urban projects can enliven the ecology of a city. The design of an apartment building can remind us of a city’s history, beyond providing a place to live. In this way, both inhabitants and those who live in the city become part of a community with a shared history, connecting us to our reason to live together.

Collaboration

A developer wishes to leave a legacy of quality and meaning on the projects he creates. Together we designed an architecture that met economic, functional and aesthetic aspirations. An age-old definition of architecture: commodity, firmness and delight.

Art Integration

Sculpture at the strategic corners of the city block expresses the elm leaves which defined the city and are linked by the three rivers which join to flow into the harbor. The names of the founders and Indian tribes inhabit the waters.

Result

The marriage of making and meaning can be both profitable and inspiring. College and Crown offers an example of living in a city which can be both convenient and rewarding beyond the proximity to the workplace.
