When Omarys was about nine years old, her father brought home a foamboard scale model of a home he planned to have built in their native Dominican Republic. From that moment, the idea of imagining a structure or space -- that could one day be made real -- took hold in her. Detail-oriented and driven, Omarys began to cultivate the potential for a career in design.
A first-generation American, born and raised in New York City’s famed Lower East Side, Omarys graduated from the five-year Bachelor of Architecture program at the nearby Pratt Institute. Searching for the right fit, Omarys heard about Svigals+Partners' collaboration-oriented culture, and it piqued her interest. Stepping into the office for the first time, she was left wide-eyed by the firm's unmistakable focus on art. She knew she had found a group that shared her desire to create powerful and inspiring spaces.
Now an architectural designer and job captain, Omarys works to see projects through from concept to schematic design to construction administration, always with the client’s goals and design intent in mind. Empathic and respectful, she takes pride in her ability to promote fluid collaboration among stakeholders.
