Laboratories
As both laboratory planners and architects, Svigals + Partners has the vision to provide a "home" for laboratory research. We bring the human dimension into designing state-of-the-art research environments. Every member of our staff has laboratory design experience, and our expertise over the past two decades has included a wide variety of projects including the design of molecular and cell biology laboratories, pharmaceutical plants, insectology facilities, research greenhouses, hospital facilities, aquariums, chemistry research laboratories, large scale research planning, and animal care facilities.
K-12 Schools
Svigals + Partners has specialized in the design and construction of educational facilities since our inception in 1983. Projects have ranged from feasibility studies for elementary schools to master planning, renovation work, and new construction of major new K-12 facilities. The strength of our firm lies in the breadth of experience from master planning through programming and design to the final constructed project.
Colleges and Universities
The Svigals + Partners team brings over 20 years of experience designing library, classroom, office, common area and laboratory spaces for educational facilities. Our expertise includes the sensitive integration of new and expanded facilities that strategically maximize existing resources in order to create a coherent campus image. This sense of connection between the overall campus and the individual creates architecture that can more fully serve a college's educational mission.

Master Planning
At Svigals + Partners, our recognized work as both master planners and architects has given us an appreciation of how individual projects in a university's master plan can contribute to an overall sense of and improvement of the campus. Since 1996, our firm has worked closely on the $2.3 billion UConn Master Plan, one of the largest university master planning efforts in the United States. In all of our projects, we have an appreciation for the role each building plays in nourishing the wider community as a whole.
Corporate, Ecclesiastical and Municipal
Svigals + Partners has been widely recognized for its design of corporate headquarters, healthcare facilities, religious centers, municipal facilities as well as small medical office environments. The firm has designed places for work, healing, or spiritual reflection that stimulate creativity, productivity and well-being while expressing the institutional mission of the organization. It is through the sensitive attention to the progression of arrival, gathering, collaboration and repose that small communities like these can be nurtured and renewed.
Residential
Svigals + Partners has been involved in the sensitive development of residential communities since 1983. These projects range in scope from single family homes to public elderly housing communities to a 400 unit mixed-use development including single family, attached condominiums, and mid-rise apartments. Our project team is informed by many years of experience designing residences of all types, and through the evaluation of their subsequent success and longevity.
