Dan Dryzgula, Assoc. AIA

Dan may not have had a choice about becoming an architect. His father a carpenter, uncle a contractor, grandfather an engineer—you get the picture. Dan was stacking toys and building with anything he could get his hands on as soon as he was old enough to sit up, and believes his predisposition to design and construction may be genetic.

Dan started with Svigals + Partners during breaks from college at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He recalls a particularly demanding college professor who stated explicitly that he wanted to see how many students he could ‘break.’ Dan stands before us unbroken, consistently putting in whatever it takes to get the project done on time and always at a high level.

Full-time with us since graduating in 2006, Dan loves the firm for the balance: fun designs balanced against hard work and direct client engagement. However his favorite part of the job is watching the project come together during construction, and the rewarding feeling of seeing a client’s face when they experience their new space for the first time – and they immediately love it.

What You Might Not Know

If Dan could be any piece of architecture, it would possibly be the canopy designed by JAHN over the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz, Berlin Germany.

In his spare time, Dan loves to do woodworking projects in his work shop, a variety of freelance marketing, and graphic and logo design.
